Male Pattern Balding Treatment and Care

What Is Male Pattern Baldness

Male pattern baldness is also known as androgenic alopecia and is the most common type of men hair loss. According to some conducted surveys, more than 50 % of men all over the world at the age of 50 will experience the risk to be affected at some level of male pattern balding.

Causes

Most of the men are genetically related to male pattern baldness because of the effect of hormones on hair follicle( each strand of hair sits in this tiny hole or cavity called follicle) which lead to it. The hormone testosterone, that is present in very high levels in puberty, converts dihydrotestosterone (DHT) from an enzyme 5-alpha reductase. DHT has a negative impact on the hair follicles, and hormone receptor on the hair follicle hence reduces the production of hair. The results are followed with producing weak and shorter hair, and in a worse case totally stops the hair growth by the follicle. But follicles do remain alive which means there is still a possibility to grow new hair.

What Are The Balding Symptoms

Male pattern balding begins in the hairline which moves backward, and hair starts to become shorter, finer, much thinner and starts to create a pattern of  the initial U, around the sides of the head.

Balding Tests

The test for checking if there are any signs of male pattern baldness is diagnosed on the appearance and the pattern of the hair loss. But hair loss can be caused as a result of other conditions like: shed a lot of hair, if your hair breaks, hair loss with redness of the skin, scaling or pain. To be identified what exactly is, a skin biopsy must be done, blood test, and some other procedures needed in addition to revealing any other disorders that may cause hair loss.

Most of the men fear of hair loss and honestly hope that will never be affected but when comes to it, they feel shocked and depressed. After all a beautiful hair is related with youth and attractiveness.
