Does rack pallet
installation sounds like a difficult (yet attractive) task for a
Do-It-Yourselfer as you are? Putting all the pieces together requires
nothing but some basic skills and knowledge. Still, people get easily
confused about installing a rack
pallet, but you definitely shouldn't be, now when you have found
us and our great tips.
To follow our
step-by-step guide, you will need these tools:
- Hammer drill;
- Chalk string line;
- Tape measure;
- Adjustable spanner;
Step #1: The most
important thing in the process of installing a rack pallet system is
to accurately measure and correctly mark. To mark the floor, you will
only need a chalk line. Start measuring from the distance back from
the wall where you want the rear of the rack pallet to be positioned,
just make sure to consider the pallet size and any beams you may have
against the wall. Mark the floor in several sections and then use
your chalk line to create a line all over the length of the racking.
Step #2: Once you have
marked the area for the rack pallet and positioned the rear, it is
time to decide where to position the first upright frame. Set the
first upright frame on the line and mark 2 spots to fit the base
plate on with dynabolts. The easiest way to do it is to have your
first bay assembled and move it in-out of place. Use the hammer drill
to drill into the concrete floor and make a hole deeper than the
length of the dynabolts. Then, place the first bay in place and
tighten the dynabolts to stabilize the frame. The first bay is most
certainly the most important bay of your rack pallet, so when
installing it, double check your measurements.
Step #3: When the time
for the second bay comes, attach the beams and the frame to the first
bay. The important thing is the first bay to be level so you can
correctly mark the spots for the 2 dynabolts you are going to put.
Next, move the end frame away from the marks you have made for
dynabolts and take the hammer drill once again for new holes. To make
sure the frame is tighten up correctly and firmly on the base plate,
make sure the hole is deeper than the dynabolts lengths. Now that the
holes are all drilled, move the frame back into place and secure the
dynabolts. Repeat this process until you have installed as many bays
as you want.
Step #4: When all the
frames are in place, it comes the easiest step – setting up the
beams. You can set up the beams to any level you want them to be. A
quality rack pallet comes with safety locking pins which you can use
to lock the beams in place. With a double check performed, you can
pack all of your worries concerning your rack pallet and throw them
away.
